How many bricks are needed per square metre?
About 49 bricks for a 4.5 inch wall and about 98 for a 9 inch wall, including a 10 mm mortar joint.
How many AAC blocks are in one cubic metre?
A 600×200×100 mm block is 0.012 m³, so one cubic metre holds about 83 blocks (a little fewer once joints are counted). Thicker blocks give fewer per cubic metre — the calculator works it out for your wall.
How much wastage should I add?
3–5% is typical for AAC and 5–10% for bricks, depending on handling and site conditions.
